Newport News, Va. – Last week's Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week,
Devon Miller, can add another Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week accolade to her growing resume after another brilliant week in the circle for the Rams, who have now won 20 straight contests.
Miller picked up her second career save in midweek at Stony Brook with 2.1 hitless innings, striking out two Seawolves while walking three and then matched her career-high with 15 strikeouts against St. Bonaventure on Saturday with her fifth complete game, keeping the Bonnies off the board until a two-out, two-run home run in the seventh inning ended a stretch of nearly 19 innings without giving up a run over her previous four appearances.
Miller is up to fourth nationally with 12.4 strikeouts per seven innings, fifth with just 2.76 hits allowed per seven, and 79
th with a 1.66 ERA.
The Rams five originally scheduled contests this week against UConn and Rhode Island have been postponed by the respective programs though Fordham is actively looking for a replacement.
