Volleyball Heads to Dayton for Atlantic 10 Championship

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham volleyball team (5-4, 5-3 A-10) will make its first Atlantic 10 Championship appearance since 2010 on Friday against top-seeded hosts, Dayton (11-1, 8-1), at 4 p.m. on ESPN+. Winner will advance to Saturday's final at noon.

Series History vs. Dayton
The Flyers, winners of eight of the past 10 Championships, own a 40-1 all-time advantage over the Rams since 1995. Fordham's lone win came in 1997 in five sets at home. Most recently, the Rams were swept home and away in 2019.
 
Moody Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year
The freshman outside hitter finished top-three in the league and top-45 in the nation in kills, attacks, and points per set, and earned three consecutive A-10 Rookie of the Week honors during the season. She is the second Ram to ever win the award and is the fifth Ram to ever be named First Team All-Conference. She was also selected to the All-Rookie squad. Read more about it here.
 
Top-Five Block Party
Through nine matches and 33 sets, the Fordham Rams are 5^th in the country in blocks per set, averaging 2.97. First-year middle blocker Isabel Fichtel leads all of Division I with 1.93 per frame, nearly .2 more than the next person.
 
Nationally Speaking (as of 4/1)
In addition to the above, sophomore Mallory Lipski is 24^th nationally with 5.35 digs per set, while sophomore Megan Brzozowski is 112^th with 9.27 assists per frame. The Rams are 41^st with 38.2 attacks per frame and 49^th with 17.1 digs per set, plus are 68^th with opponents hitting .165.
 
Whitley Moody Earns Third Straight A-10 Rookie of the Week Honor
The freshman from San Jose became the first Ram to win any of the weekly league accolades for a third consecutive week after helping the Rams to a 2-1 week with 48 total kills over 11 sets. Read more about her week here.
 
Fichtel, Moody Scoop Up Atlantic 10 Honors
Moody, for the second straight week, was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, while Fichtel, who was Rookie of the Week after the opening week of the season, earned Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors. Read all about it here.
 
Whitley Moody Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week
The San Jose, Calif. native led the Rams on offense over two wins with a pair of double-doubles including season-highs against George Mason. Read about her weekend here.
 
Isabel Fichtel Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week
Earlier this season, Fichtel set the program's four-set record for blocks in a loss to St. John's, tallying 12 total, one solo, finishing just one block shy of tying the overall single-match record. She earned her first piece of A-10 hardware as a result.
