Bronx, N.Y. – (March 30, 2021) – Following a 2-0 week, the Fordham Rams look to keep on rolling for women's soccer, as the team travels to Rhode Island for the lone Atlantic 10 match of the week on Wednesday afternoon.

Fordham (2-2-1, 2-2 A-10) enters Wednesday after back-to-back wins over Rhode Island and La Salle last week to get right into the thick of the A-10 playoff hunt.  The Rams topped URI, 2-1, in double overtime on Thursday, while downing La Salle, 1-0, on Sunday.  Rhode Island is 1-7-2 thus far with a 0-3-2 record in A-10 play.  After falling to Fordham, URI also dropped a 1-0 contest to Massachusetts on Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY: This is the second meeting between the two Rams teams in less than a week.  The 22nd match-up was a thrilling one as Fordham took home a 2-1 double overtime victory behind a two-goal performance by Kristen Cocozza.  The win put Fordham ahead in the overall series at 10-9-3.

LAST TIME OUT (3/28): The Fordham Rams continued their winning ways on Sunday afternoon, posting a 1-0 win over the La Salle Explorers in women's soccer action in Philadelphia.

The Fordham defense had an early highlight in the 17th minute to keep the game scoreless.  Off a La Salle corner, Mary Kate Vinkler took a shot toward the right side of the net but was cleared away by Olivia Redden for a defender save.

Fordham goalkeeper Maria O'Sullivan then put her stamp on the first half with a tremendous stop in the 25th minute.  Emily Banashefski took a free kick from outside the box on the left side and lined a shot to the right post.  O'Sullivan made a diving punch save to the post to deny the Explorer.

The Rams got all the offense they would need in the 35th minute, when La Salle tried to clear the ball from the defensive end.  Fordham's Marissa Krenn got to the loose ball and got it forward to Kendall Dandridge at the top of the box.  She then delivered a perfect shot from the right side that hooked its way inside the top left corner of the net for her first career goal.

Fordham's defense held strong for the rest of the match, limiting La Salle to four shots and two corner kicks for the 1-0 victory.  O'Sullivan ended the match with two saves, posting her first full shutout of her career.

COCOZZA NAMED ATLANTIC 10 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (3/29): The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly women's soccer awards with Fordham sophomore forward Kristen Cocozza receiving Offensive Player of the Week honors.  It is Cocozza's second career weekly award, after earning Rookie of the Week accolades once in 2019.

Cocozza helped Fordham to a 2-0 week with wins over Rhode Island and La Salle.  In the Rhode Island match, she recorded her first career multi-goal game and scored the game-winning goal with 51 seconds left in double overtime.  For her career, it was her third career game-winning tally.  She is the Rams' current leading scorer with two goals and four points in five contests.

WHO'S NEXT: Following Wednesday' match, the Rams will host Saint Joseph's on April 8th, while traveling to Massachusetts on April 11th to finish out the regular season.
