Bronx, N.Y. - Today we continue to introduce the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2021, recognizing the former student-athletes and coaches who will be honored, as today we recognize one of Fordham baseball's all-time greats,
Joe Runco. He joins water polo's
Ali Arat, former head rowing coach
Ted Bonanno, women's basketball's
Abigail Corning and
Erin Rooney, softball's
Jocelyn Dearborn, men's basketball's
Jay Fazande, men's soccer's
Ryan Meara, women's swimming's
Caitlin Napoli, football's
Mike Nebrich and
Ralph Rios, men's track and field's
Joe McGovern, and
Joe Moglia in the class of 2021. They are the 13 inductees who will be honored in October.

Runco will join the likes of Frankie Frisch, Vince Lombardi, Wellington Mara, Charlie Yelverton, Anne Gregory O'Connell, and Vin Scully in the Fordham Athletics Hall of Fame. The new class is scheduled to be inducted on 2021 Homecoming weekend on Thursday, October 7, on the Rose Hill campus. Specifics will be released when available.

As part of the ceremony, Fordham will also present the Victory Bell Award as well as honor all current Fordham Athletic Hall of Famers. The Victory Bell will be presented to an individual or individuals who have brought distinction and honor to Fordham University Athletics through achievements not related to competition, coaching and/or administration. The honoree(s) will be selected by the Hall of Fame Committee and will embody a sense of leadership and passion for Fordham Athletics and serve as inspiration to the Fordham Athletics Family.

Joe Runco, Baseball
- Four-year member of the baseball team
- Holds school record for most games played in a career (218)
- Holds school record for most hits in a career (242)
- Tied for second on the school's career stolen base list (91)
- Led the Atlantic 10 in stolen bases for two seasons (2014 and 2015)
- Three-time selection to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team
- Named First Team Capital One/CoSida Academic All-District in 2015
- 2014 Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection
- 2013 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection
Runco currently resides in Pittsburgh, with his wife, Samantha. He is a dental student at the University of Pittsburgh and will graduate in May 2021 and then do a residency in Orthodontics at the University of Colorado.
