Fordham University Athletics Partners With Student Athlete Empowerment

Rams expand NIL program

New York, New York – Fordham University Athletics has partnered with Student Athlete Empowerment (SAE) to assist individuals and businesses interested in engaging in NIL activities with Ram student-athletes.

"We are excited to expand our NIL programming for our Rams with Student Athlete Empowerment (SAE)," said Fordham director of athletics Ed Kull. "Our partnership with SAE will provide our student-athletes with additional professional support to engage with NIL opportunities and activations. As the collegiate athletics landscape advances with new legislation, we will continue to pursue the best resources to equip and prepare our Rams for their future."

SAE specializes in evaluating and managing incoming NIL requests from brands, individuals and other entities, and then will identify partnerships with Fordham student-athletes that best align with the goals of the requested activation. SAE negotiates each partnership, including defining deliverable and timing responsibilities for each student-athlete, while ensuring that each NIL agreement remains in compliance with Fordham and NCAA rules, as well as state and federal law. SAE will also provide disclosure and escrow services to guarantee proper and timely compensation of student-athletes for any NIL engagements, while also ensuring that they remain in compliance with all IRS regulations.

"We're proud to partner with Fordham University to help empower Ram student-athletes," says Jason Belzer, CEO of Student Athlete Empowerment. "Whether it's a local New York pizzeria, a parent, or a long-time supporter of the Rams program, they can feel confident in working with SAE to create unique NIL opportunities for student-athletes, while having the peace of mind that all state, school and NCAA rules will be followed."

Individuals and corporations interested in inquiring about NIL related opportunities with Ram student-athletes can visit www.EmpowerRams.com to submit a request. Once received, a representative from Student Athlete Empowerment will reach out to determine the scope of work involved and what student-athlete(s) might best help fit the activation requested. Entities interested in continuing with the NIL engagement will contract directly with SAE, who will work with the student-athletes to ensure fulfillment of all obligations.

Fordham joins the Florida, Loyola Marymount, and Robert Morris as the first schools in the nation to launch the Student Athlete Empowerment NIL program within their athletic programs.
