2020 Block F Special Awards – Virtual Style

Kenneally and Glickman Award winners announced

Even though the COVID-19 outbreak canceled the 2020 Block F Awards Dinner it will not stop us  from recognizing the outstanding student-athletes from 2019-2020. Instead of gathering in the historic Rose Hill Gym each winner will be honored online, from team MVPs to all the special award winners. We know that it's not the same but we want all the student-athletes to know that we thank you for your hard work and dedication and we are thinking of you and your families.

Bronx, N.Y. – Today we start with the 2020 Block F Special Awards, beginning with senior sports medicine student assistant Jaqui DiForte, winner of the Kenneally Award, and junior Emmanuel Berbari, who won his second straight Marty Glickman Award.

The Patrick Kenneally Award is presented to a Fordham student who serves the Athletic Department in capacities other than athletic participation.  The award honors the memory of Pat Kenneally, equipment and business manager for 54 years.

Senior Jacqui DiForte, a senior student assistant in the Sports Medicine office, is the recipient of the 2020 Patrick Kenneally award. She has been involved with the sports medicine department for the past two seasons, working tireless hours for the entire month of August during preseason football camp and throughout the season with the team. She was an indispensable part of the sports medicine staff who will attend graduate school to obtain her doctorate in physical therapy.

The Marty Glickman Award is presented to the WFUV student play-by-play announcer who best follows the examples taught by Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Glickman. The award honors the memory of Marty Glickman, who was the broadcast coach at WFUV from 1987-99.

For the second time in the history of the award we have a two-time Glickman award winner. Still just a junior, Emmanuel Berbari displayed his talents, both broadcasting games and conducting interviews, for WFUV Sports and the Fordham athletics web site and doing it on a professional level.
