Andrew Mevis was named to the 2019 FCS Pre-Season Punter of the Year Watch list recently. He is just one of 28 NCAA FCS punters named to the list.
Last fall, Mevis averaged 41.3 yards/punt (81 punts for 3,344 yards) with a long of 70. He placed 26 of his 81 punts inside the 20 and 26 were fair caught. Mevis also connected on five of his seven field goal attempts and 15 of his 18 PATs in earning second team All-Patriot League honors as a placekicker. He hit a career-long 54-yard field goal at Holy Cross, one yard shy of the Patriot League and Fordham record. A three-time Patriot League Special Teams Player of the week, Mevis also kicked off 36 times for an average of 62.1 yards/kick with 22 touchbacks.
2019 will mark the inaugural season for the FCS Punter of the Year Award. The Augusta Sports Council, based in Augusta, Georgia is also home to the Ray Guy Award which honors the nation's best FBS collegiate punter each year.
The FCS Punter of the Year Preseason Watchlist was chosen based on 2018 All-Americans, 2018 All-Conference selections, and conference nominations. Players were reviewed based on their eligibility and inclusion on their team's 2019 roster.

End of July: Preseason watchlist released, award announced to the public
End of November: Committee will choose top 10 semi-finalists
Early December: Voting Body will choose top 3 finalists
Mid-December: Second Round of voting will determine winner
Early January: Winner announced
