Grad student linebacker becomes one of just five NCAA FCS players with more than 500 career tackles

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham graduate student linebacker James Conway was named the Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week for Week 5 college football games this past weekend, it was announced today.
 
In a 26-21 Patriot League win over Holy Cross on Saturday, a win that returned the Ram Crusader Cup to Rose Hill, Conway recorded a game-high 19 tackles, including one sack, as the Fordham defense held the Crusaders scoreless in the second half.
 
Conway's 19 tackles bring his career total to 511. He becomes just one of five FCS players to have that many since the 2000 season.
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 4 as they travel to Easton, Pa., to face the Lafayette College Leopards in a Patriot League game at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
