Shannon Raymond Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

Raymond Moves Into Head Position in Charge of Compliance

Bronx, N.Y. – (July 17, 2019) – Fordham athletic director David Roach announced today the promotion of Shannon Raymond to the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. 
 
Raymond was previously hired as the Director of Athletic Compliance at Rose Hill in October 2018.
 
In her position, Raymond will head the Compliance Department in all aspects of NCAA compliance including overseeing roster management and acting as database administrator for ARMS and CAI as well as administering NCAA and institutional forms for student-athletes and staff. She will also monitor student-athlete employment, outside competition, and oversee initial eligibility and Eligibility Center accounts and assist with preparation and writing of NCAA, Atlantic 10, and Patriot League reports and waivers.
 
Raymond arrived at Fordham after serving as the NCAA compliance and student services coordinator at Bucknell University in 2018. She worked closely with the Associate AD for compliance and student services in managing Bucknell's compliance and rules education program for coaches, student-athletes, departmental staff, boosters and university offices. The office also coordinated and monitored the certification of student-athletes' eligibility and financial aid, and they also oversee the area of student-athlete services. 
 
Prior to her stay at Bucknell, Raymond served as an athletic compliance intern at Temple University in 2017-2018. Among her duties was to develop a comprehensive guide informing student-athletes of NCAA regulations concerning extra benefits, gambling, academic fraud, and sport agent contract risks. While at Temple, Raymond also worked as a student-athlete academic monitor and as an assistant equipment manager. 
 
In 2016, Raymond interned at Villanova in the area of athletics business and student services. 
 
Raymond received both her bachelor of arts (sport and recreation management) and master's (higher education) degrees from Temple. She is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, the Bethesda Project and the National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC).
