Bronx, N.Y. – (May 1, 2019) – Fordham women's soccer head coach Jessica Clinton announced this afternoon that rising seniors Margaret Roughley and Juliana Mascelli have been selected as team captains for the 2019 season.
 
"This class has come a long way since their first year and they are all very passionate about Fordham Women's Soccer.  Jules and Maggie continue to bring out the best in their teammates both on and off the field.  They are fierce competitors who also balance team cohesion and connectivity within the classes," said Clinton.
 
Roughley, a former Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection and a 2018 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference selection, started all 19 games for the Rams last season, leading the team in scoring.  She posted a team-high, as well as career-high, four goals and nine points on the year, and scored one game-winning goal.  Through the first three years of her career, she has appeared in all 58 games for Fordham and has started the last 54, entering 2019.
 
Mascelli has been a versatile player over her first three seasons, seeing action at a multitude of position on the pitch.  She has appeared in 41 games over her career, and played in all 19 as a junior in 2018.  A member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, she has two goals and one assist in her career.
 
"We had a very good spring and have learned a lot about what they are capable of.  Being a captain is not easy, but with the support of the staff and team, we are in great hands with Jules, Maggie and our rising seniors leading the charge," said Clinton.
