Malvern, Pa. – The Fordham golf team closed out the Wildcat Invitational with a combined 17-over on Tuesday, finishing in solo 19
th with a total score of 596. The Rams were in 13
th after a 295 on day one. Drexel's Connor Schmidt took home individual honors at 11-under after an 8-under first round. Schmidt helped his team to victory, as well, as the Dragons combined for a 17-under score of 551.
Tommy Hayes led the pack with a 1-over par 72, totaling three birdies on his first nine holes to go with one bogey, but went 3-over on his final nine to finish above par.
Anthony Wells, who set a career low with a 71 on Monday fired a 3-over 74 on Tuesday, also carding three birdies on the day to finish at T33 for the tournament at +3, a new career-low 145. Hayes finished in a tie for 55
th at +6 with a two-day score of 148, also a new career-low.
Tomas Nieves finished with a 6-over 77, followed by
Josh Madarang at 7-over 78, and
Dean Cerimido, who carded a 10-over 81, as did
Billy Harrison, who competed as an individual.
Fordham will next compete at the Yale Spring Invitational this Saturday, April 13
th.
