North Kingstown, R.I. – Junior
Tomas Nieves finished in solo third, a new career best, at the conclusion of the two-day, three-round Rhode Island Invitational at Quidnessett Country Club, helping the Rams to a fifth place finish out of seven schools. Rhode Island took home team honors with a combined score of 898 (+34).
Nieves carded a final round 2-over 74 to finish with a career-low 219 score at +3 for the tournament. He finishes behind Rhode Island's Dawson Jones (E) and Holy Cross' Joe Egan (+2). It is the junior's first top-10 finish.
Anthony Wells carded a third-round 81 to fall three spots into a tie for 13
th, while
Josh Madarang carded an 82 to conclude the event in a tie for 20
th.
Thomas Hayes finished joint-30
th with a score of 243, while
Billy Harrison and
Dean Cerimido each finished in a tie for 34
th with scores of 244.
The Rams' 2018-19 campaign concludes with the three-day Atlantic 10 Championships on April 26-28.
