Hellertown, Pa. – The Fordham golf team moved up four positions on day two of the Abarta Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invitational on Monday, finishing the first tournament of the Spring season in 14
th place with a team score of 614. All six Rams improved upon their day one scores at Silver Creek Country Club.
Josh Madarang led the way for the Rams with a 2-under-par 70 to finish in a tie for 6
th among a field of 116.

Madarang's 70 gave the senior a two-day total of 144, good for his T6 finish, three strokes behind Bucknell's Chris Tanabe. Madarang was in a tie for second place for most of the day after a run where he birded five of six holes, including four straight, on a par 4 and two par 5s and par 3s.

Tomas Nieves carded a one-over-73 to move up four spots in a tie for 18
th with a score of 148, a new career two-round low. The junior notched four birdies, three coming on par-5s, giving him -4 for the tournament on those holes, second-lowest in the tournament. Nieves led the squad with seven birdies overall, one ahead of Madarang's six.

Thomas Hayes fired a 78 to finish in a tie for 74
th with a total score of 159. Hayes was followed by
Billy Harrison (82-81-163, T89) and
Anthony Wells (83-81-164, T94), while
Justin Pellegrino, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for 103
rd with a total score of 168 after carding a second-round 82.

Fordham will next compete at next week's Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova at White Manor Country Club over Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9. Â Â
