Hellertown, Pa. – The Fordham golf team kicked off its 2019 spring campaign with round one of the Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, played at Silver Creek Country Club and hosted by Lafayette College. The Rams finished the day in 18
th out of 20 schools with a combined score of 313.

Senior
Josh Madarang carried over his solid fall form to finish +2 on the day with a score of 74, tied for 14
th in the field.
Tomas Nieves carded a 76 on the day and sits in a tie for 38
th, followed by Tommy Hayes with an 81 (T-88
th),
Billy Harrison with an 82 (T-96
th), and
Anthony Wells with an 83 (T-99
th).
Justin Pellegrino competed individually and finished the day with an 86, tied for 108
th overall.

Nieves carded three birdies to lead the way, with two coming on par-5 holes, while Madarang and Wells each notched one apiece. Madarang's 14 pars on the day were second-most in the field.

The Rams finished -1 overall on par 5 holes on the day and +20 on par 4s, but struggled on par 3s with a +17 score.

Colgate currently leads the field with a score of 290, followed by Lafayette, Bucknell, and St. Peter's, all with 294 each in a tie for second. Bucknell's Chris Tanabe fired the day's lone round in the 60s, carding a 69 to lead the field. Colgate's Ryan Skae and Bryant's Matthew Stafford are tied for second at -2.
