Bronx, N.Y. – Head coach Stephanie Gaitley and the Fordham women's basketball program have today announced the graduate transfer of Columbia guard Alexa Giuliano for the 2018-19 season. The Hackettstown, N.J. native was a three-year member of the Lions and a former AAU teammate of current Ram Bre Cavanaugh.
 
"We are excited to have Alexa join up with her longtime friend and teammate, Bre," Gaitley said, "They were a terrific backcourt pairing and we look forward to her adding depth to the guard position."
 
Giuliano played three seasons with Columbia before taking time away from the team as a senior to focus on her academics. Prior to this year, Giuliano totaled 570 points (6.8 per game), 146 three-pointers, 79 assists, and 65 steals over her three seasons.
 
As a freshman, Giuliano finished third on the team with 279 points, 10.0 points per game, 30.8 minutes per contest, fourth with 5.0 rebounds per game, and fourth with 22 assists. She also, by far, led the team with 73 made three's and was second with 30 steals, while making 25 starts in 28 appearances. She began her collegiate career with 20 points and six rebounds and set a school record towards the end of the year with eight three-pointer's at Harvard.
 
Her sophomore year, she again made 25 starts over 29 appearances and notched a further 233 points (8.0 per game) over 25.0 minutes, upping her assists to 46 and finished third with 28 steals. Her junior year, she averaged 11.0 minutes over 27 appearances with 58 total points.
 
Prior to her time in Manhattan, Giuliano was a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain at Morris Catholic, helping her team to three Morris County Tournament, conference, and sectional championships. As a senior, she earned Third Team All-State distinction and was a two-time All-Conference honoree. Off the court, she was a three-time All-Academic team member, as well.
