Stony Brook, N.Y. – The Fordham women's tennis team rallied to defeat Stony Brook 4-3 in a tight match on Saturday afternoon for its second win in as many days.
After dropping the doubles point and the first two singles matches the Rams rallied to take the final four singles matches to secure the victory.
Gianna Insogna got things started, defeating Maria Ribeiro 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 in fourth singles. Next to secure a point was
Whitney Weisberg, who defeated Amanda Foo in a hard-fought three setter 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in sixth singles, followed by
Estelle Wong who defeated Ana Carrion 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-4 in second singles and
Maia Balce secured the win in third singles with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Ester Chikvashivili.
The Rams return to action Saturday April 21 as they host conference foe La Salle on Senior Day.
