West Point, N.Y. – The Fordham women's tennis team fell at Army West Point 5-2 at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center on Friday.
After dropping the crucial doubles point, the Rams looked to battle back in singles play as
Carina Ma defeated Melanie Allen 6-1, 7-5 at second singles and
Estelle Wong bested Genevieve McCormick 6-4, 7-6 in third doubles but that would be all they would muster.
Gianna Insogna was down 6-3, 5-2 in the second set before running off five straight game wins to split sets before dropping a close third set 10-8 to seal the match for the Black Knights.
The Rams return to action February 28 as they travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Drexel.
