Cambridge, Mass. – The Fordham women's rowing squad competed at the 54th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta this last Sunday, October 21st, where the team had two shells racing, one in the Women's Championship 4+ event and one in the Women's Lightweight 4+ event, two very competitive categories.

Both crews faced very challenging conditions with cold temperatures and a strong, gusting headwind. Despite the conditions, the two crews performed exceptionally well. The Women's Championship 4+ crew placed 13th out of 19, defeating crews from Boston College, BU, Princeton, UMass, Guelph, and Holy Cross. They finished the 5k course in a time of 21:21.834.Â

The Women's Lightweight 4+ crew placed 9th out of 16, finishing in a time of 21:28.740. They finished more than 30 seconds ahead of the Stanford Lightweight Women, who are defending National Collegiate Champions.

The Rams will conclude the Fall season by returning to 8+s this next Saturday, Oct. 27th, at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa.
