Newport News, Va. - Fordham senior James Mongey was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Rookie of the week it was announced by the league today. It is the first weekly honor for Mongey and the first for the Rams this season.

Mongey won the Ryan Lee Memorial Tournament, held on September 9 and 10 at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, Conn.  The senior followed his career-best 68 in round one with an even par 72 in round two for a two-day total of 140, the second-lowest two day total in program history.

Fordham also won the team title, its first since the 2015-16 season where the Rams won the Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invitational.
 
The Rams return to action on Monday, September 18, as they compete in the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Conn.
