Women’s Soccer Takes On St. Bonaventure & Richmond in A-10 Action This Week

Rams Look to Rebound From a Pair of 1-0 Losses Last Week

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham women's soccer team hits the midway point of Atlantic 10 Conference play this week with two contests.  On Thursday, Fordham hosts St. Bonaventure for a 7:00 PM contest on October 5th, while traveling to Richmond on Sunday, October 8th for a 1:00 PM matinee.
 
Fordham sits right in the middle of the Atlantic 10 standings after two weeks at 2-2-0 in the conference, 5-5-3 overall.  Thursday's opponent is St. Bonaventure, who have yet to post a win this season at 0-11-2 with a 0-3-1 mark in the Atlantic 10.  The Bonnies have struggled to score, netting two goals in 13 games.  On Sunday, the Rams go to Richmond, who have also had a rough season, posting a 1-9-1 overall record, 1-2-1 in the Atlantic 10.  The Spiders though are 1-1-1 in their last three games with a win over Rhode Island.

SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 22nd meeting between Fordham and St. Bonaventure, with the first meeting back in 1994.  The Rams hold a distinct edge in the all-time series at 15-5-1, which includes a 1-0 win at St. Bonaventure last season, when Lane Cronin scored in overtime to give the Rams a win.
 
On Sunday, it will the 14th all-time meeting for the Rams and Spiders, with Richmond ahead in the series at 7-5-1.  However, Fordham is 4-1-1 against Richmond in the last six contests, dating back to 2007.  The Rams have come away recently with a 3-1 win last season, as well as a 3-0 victory at Richmond in 2015.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Duquesne's Katie O'Connor scored the lone goal of the game in the 25th minute, while Kyra Murphy made four saves, as the Dukes spoiled Cancer Awareness Day at Jack Coffey Field, upending the Fordham Rams, 1-0, in women's soccer action on Sunday.
 
Duquesne scored the lone goal of the game in the 25th minute.  Katie O'Connor connected on a give-and go with Abby Losco with O'Connor turning and scoring into the upper 90 from 15 yards out for her fourth goal of the season.

The Rams looked hard for the equalizer, outshooting Duquesne, 8-3, after the goal, but was unable to tie the game.  Brooklyn Gonzalez had a pair of shots on goal in the second half, but both were stopped by Duquesne's Kyra Murphy.

WHO'S NEXT: Following this week's action, the Rams will host Davidson on Thursday, October 12th, at 7:00 PM on Jack Coffey Field, while traveling to play La Salle on Sunday, October 15th, at 1:00 PM.
