North Kingstown, R.I. – The Fordham golf squad wrapped up competition today at the Rhode Island Invitational played at the Quidnessett Golf Couse at the Quidnessett Country Club where the Rams finished in fifth place of nine teams.

Fordham shot an 896 over the three-round tournament, two strokes behind fourth place St. John's and just four behind Wagner and Rhode Island, who tied for second. Bryant won the team competition with an 872. The Rams were one stroke in front of Saint Joseph's while Holy Cross (917), Laval (925) and UMass-Lowell (925) rounded out the competitors.

Individually,
Joseph Trim was the top Fordham finisher, carding a 73 today after two identical 74 rounds on Monday for a 221 total, ten strokes behind the winner. He led Fordham with 37 pars in the 54-hole invitational

Matt Schiller, who turned in a two-round score of 147 on Monday, shot a 79 today to bring his score to 226, tying him for 19th. He recorded seven birdies over the three rounds.
Thomas Hayes, who recorded five birdies en route to a 150 on day one, scored a 77 today for a 227 total, tying him for 21st. He finished with a team-high eight birdies.

James Mongey, who shot a 149 over the first two rounds, carded a 79 today to bring his three-round total to 228, tying him for 25th while
Josh Madarang scored a 75 today to bring his total to 231, tying him for 38th.

Oscar Cabanas, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for 31st, shooting a 77 today to finish at 229. He finished with seven birdies.

The Rams return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24, as they compete in the Til Duty is Done Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Conn.
