Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham women's tennis team finished its three-game Florida swing with two more victories, over Atlantic 10 foe Rhode Island, 7-0, on Monday and against Bethune-Cookman University, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon to sweep the trio of matches. The Rams have now won five straight and are now 7-2 overall on the season.

The Rams impressively did not drop a single set in three doubles matches and six singles bouts against Rhode Island. The team of
Destiny Grunin and
Alexis Zobeideh was the first to complete its doubles match, against URI's Elizaveta Sadovnikov and Nicole Kalver, 6-1, before
Mayu Sato and
Hannah Drayton clinched the doubles point in first position against Taylor Holden and Anna Peachock, 6-2.
Estelle Wong and
Gianna Insogna also won their match, 6-4.

In singles action, Insogna shut out Kalver, 6-0, 6-0 in #6 singles, before Drayton nearly did the same against Sadovnikov, 6-1, 6-1 at the third position. Moments later, Zobeideh clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-1 result of her own. Wong's match against Peacock went 6-4, 6-3, just before Sato finished her win against Holden, 6-2, 6-4. Grunin rounded out Monday's action with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ariel Haber.

For the second day in a row, Fordham won all three of its doubles contests against the Wildcats. The three tandems remained the same, with Sato and Drayton scoring a win over Mina Matsuba and Matea Roki, 7-6, in #1 doubles, Wong and Insogna downing Ancia Ifill and Alejandra Vidal, 6-4, and Grunin and Zobeideh combining for a 6-3 victory over Hilary Hanton and Karen Romero.

In singles play, only Wong and Zobeideh dropped sets, with the latter occurring during a shortened match after the Rams had clinched, 4-1. Wong lost to Matsuba, 6-4, 6-2.

Sato took down Roki, 6-3, 6-2, in #2 singles, while Drayton dropped Ifill, 6-2, 6-0 from the third spot. Grunin won her sixth singles match in a row with a 6-1, 6-0 performance over Hanton. Insogna rounded out the Rams singles matches with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Romero.

The team's recent success has driven up its singles win percentage to .561 (64-50) on the season and .620 (44-27) in doubles play.
Destiny Grunin, as mentioned above, has now won her last six contests and seven of her last nine, while Sato has rattled off four in a row, and both Drayton and Insogna have each won three straight apiece.
