BRONX – The Fordham women's tennis team won their second straight 4-3 decision on Sunday afternoon against Binghamton in the Rams' first outdoor match of the spring season. With the win, Fordham improves to 4-2 on the year, while the Bearcats fall to 6-7 overall.

Despite the final scoreline, the Rams clinched Sunday's match with four straight points, 4-0.
Fordham started off the day by winning the doubles point, though, in #1 doubles and #3 doubles.
Mayu Sato and
Hannah Drayton combined for a 6-1 victory over Shea Brodsky and Alexis Tashiro, while the duo of
Alexis Zobeideh and
Destiny Grunin downed Agatha Ambrozy and Olga Ostrovetsky, 6-4. In between,
Estelle Wong and
Gianna Insogna fell to Annie DiMuro and Sara Kohtz, 6-2.
Insogna's thorough 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Paulina Tafler gave the Rams a 2-0 lead in #6 singles and Grunin got the home team within a point of a victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ambrozy in #4 singles.
Mayu Sato made it a clean sweep of the Bearcats with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over DiMuro in #2 singles.
The final three matches, all tied at one set apiece, were determined by a tiebreak serving as the third and final sets. Binghampton were victorious in all three tiebreaks to complete the 4-3 scoreline.

The Rams travel to Orlando, Fla. for three matches over five days, starting with Quinnipiac on Friday, March 18. Fordham will also face Rhode Island and Bethune-Cookman.
