Atlantic 10 Release

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham junior Nevena Kolarevic was named the 2024-2025 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Most Outstanding Performer, it was announced by the conference office today. She becomes just the second Ram to be named A-10 Women's Tennis Performer of the Year, joining Valeriya Deminova, who received the award in 2023.

Kolarevic was also named First Team All-Atlantic 10 and was joined on the team by senior Lorraine Bergmann and sophomore Julianne Nguyen with freshman Catalina Padilla Udaeta being placed on the Second Team.

Kolarevic, who was also named Fordham's Player of the Year, had a historic first season at Fordham. She compiled a 25-3 record on the year in singles, winning 13 straight matches to finish undefeated in spring competition. A two-time A-10 Player of the Week, Kolarevic also won 22 doubles matches and added an A-10 Doubles Championship with Julianne Nguyen in the fall. Her dominance was evident as she completed the year as the highest rated women's tennis player in the A-10 Conference.

Bergmann, the team's Most Valuable Player, helped the Rams advance to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 championship for the fourth straight year. She was second on the team with 20 singles wins, playing mostly at the third position, and added 17 doubles victories, predominantly at second doubles, third best on the squad.

Nguyen received the team's Most Improved Player Award. In 2024, her first year with the Rams, Nguyen played primarily at the #3 doubles position. In 2025, Julianne made a dramatic jump to the #1 doubles position, which she held all year, and rotated between #1 and #2 in the singles lineup. She won the A-10 Doubles Championships with Nevena Kolarevic, earning an ITA National Doubles Ranking of #109 and was named A10 Player of the Week on February 11th.

Padilla enjoyed a successful rookie season at Fordham, compiling a 15-9 singles mark, the fourth most singles wins on the team. In dual matches she was 9-4, playing mostly at the sixth position where she was 7-3. In doubles action, Padilla won 19 matches, tied for second most among the Rams. She was 13-2 in dual match doubles play, 10-1 at third doubles, and was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week once in 2025.

The Fordham women's tennis team finished the season with a 16-5 record and earned the number one seed at the Atlantic 10 Championship for the first time.
