Day three of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship has concluded at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, as the Fordham men's swimming & diving team had their best showing of the Championship, scoring in five events on Friday.

The Rams remain in eighth place in the team standings with 109 points.

The Rams kicked off the night in style with senior Steve Sholdra defending his Atlantic 10 title in the 400 individual medley event.    His 2015 comeback effort to win the event wasn't needed tonight, as he set the school record with an NCAA "B" cut time of 3:51.75, breaking his own mark of 3:52.72, set last year.

Fordham also scored in the 100 breaststroke and backstroke events with juniors Robert Simkins and Miguel Mattox, respectively.  Simkins scored 14th overall in the 100 breaststroke with a season-best time of 57.48 seconds, while Mattox was 12th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.17 seconds.

The Rams finished the night by placing seventh in the 400 medley relay, as Mattox, Simkins, Tommy Christensen, and Sholdra posted a time of 3:28.02.

In other events on Friday, Christensen posted the Rams' best finish in the 100 butterfly, taking 19th in 50.78 seconds, while freshman Grant Durner had Fordham best finish in the 200 freestyle, placing 35th in 1:45.69.

The Championship will conclude on Saturday.  Preliminaries in the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 butterfly events begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the women's three-meter dive preliminaries at 1:00 PM.  The 1650 freestyle event will begin at 3:00 PM with the finals for the remaining events along with the 400 freestyle relay at 6:30 PM.
