Boston, MA - The 52nd Head of the Charles Regatta, the largest international regatta in the world, took place on October 22nd and October 23rd, 2016 in Boston, MA. The Rams competed in three different event categories including the Women's Club 8+. Women's Club 4+ and the Women's Lightweight 4+.

To kick off the women's events on Saturday, the Rams competed in the Women's Club 4+ event. The lineup consisted of seniors Alexandra Laird and
Kerry Egan, junior
Kristen Shuman and sophomores
Cynthia Luz and
Erin Stepka. The Rams finished 15th in a field of 59 entries in a time of 20:24.06. In 2015, the Rams finished 16
th in the event.

Later that afternoon, the Rams were one of 39 entries competing the Women's Club 8+. Led by senior co-captains Jackie Ramos (coxswain) and
Maura O'Donnell, the lineup included seniors
Kelly Leonard and
Kara Ramsey, junior
Caroline Hamann, sophomores
Sarah White and
Erin Parker and freshmen
Erin McGreevey and
Danae Ohresser-Joumard. The Rams came down the course in a time of 17:12.8 securing them a 6
th place finish behind Brown University (16:50.4), Syracuse (16:54.1), Radcliffe (16:55.8), Northeastern (16:59.3) and the University of Pennsylvania (17:12.3).

The Women's Lightweight 4+ event occurred on Sunday morning and included 11 entries. The Rams were led by freshman coxswain
Lindsey Maiale followed by freshmen
Jordan Glenn and
Julia Comerford, senior
Leslie Fung and junior Kat Napoli. Posting a fifth place finish, the Rams completed the course in a time of 20:48.38 behind Western Ontario, Riverside, MIT and Boston University.

In order to guarantee a place in the event next year, an entry must place in the top 50% of the field.Â

After showing very strong performances, the Rams qualified to compete in the 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta in all three events.

The Rams will continue their season at the Head of the Schuykill next weekend in Philadelphia, PA on October 29, 2016.
