Steve Sholdra Named Atlantic 10 & ECAC Performer of the Week

The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly swimming & diving award winners today, with Fordham swimmer Steve Sholdra (Renton, Wash.) earning Men's Performer of the Week honors for the third time this season.  He was also later announced as the ECAC Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week.
 
It is Sholdra's sixth career performer award and 13^th weekly award overall.
 
Sholdra picked up three event wins in the Rams' tri-meet against Iona and La Salle on Friday at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.  He won the 1000-yard freestyle (9:20.82), the 200-yard butterfly (1:51.18), and the 400-yard individual medley (4:04.29), as Fordham defeated Iona, while falling to La Salle.
 
On the year, Sholdra has competed in 18 individual events, taking first 17 times.
 
Sholdra and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving team will next be in action on Saturday, January 30^th, when the Rams travel to Massachusetts for a 1:00 PM meet.
