Complete ResultsQUECHEE, Vt. -- The Fordham men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth place over the weekend at Dartmouth's Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge, which took place at the par-72 Quechee Club. The Rams shot a 14-over par 302 in Saturday's opening round, before carding a 17-over-par 305 in Sunday's final round to finish with a two-round total of 607, 29 strokes behind Dartmouth, who won the 13-team field with a 2-over-par 578 (285-293).
Junior
Fernando Morett produced the best results of his Fordham career over the weekend. He tied a career low with a 3-over-par 75 in the first round, before besting that with a career-low 2-over-par 74 to finish with a 5-over-par 149 (75-74), the lowest two-round tournament score of his career, which was good enough for a 19th-place tie.
Sophomore
Joseph Trim carded a pair of 76s to finish in a tie for 25th place with an 8-over-par 152 (76-76). Freshman
Thomas Hayes posted a two-round total of 155 (77-78) to finish in a tie for 37th-place tie.
Sophomores
James Mongey and
Matt Schiller both ended up with 157's. Mongey fell one stroke short of his career low after firing a 2-over-par 74 in the opening round, before shooting an 83 Sunday. Schiller, who was the top scorer for the Rams in the first two tournaments, shot an 80 Saturday and bounced back with a 77 Sunday.
Junior
Oscar Cabanas played as an individual and carded a 163 (87-76).
Fordham returns to action Oct. 3-4 when it heads to New Haven, Conn. to take part in Yale's Macdonald Cup at the Yale Golf Course.
