First Round Results

SOUTH KENT, Conn. -- For the second consecutive round, sophomore Matt Schiller fired a 2-under-par 70 to tie a career low while leading the Rams in the opening round of the Hartford Hawks Invitational at the par-72 Bull's Bridge Golf Club. Schiller sits in a tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard, and Fordham is currently in 12th place after shooting a 12-over-par 300. Connecticut leads the 20-team filed with a 9-under-par 279.

Sophomore Joseph Trim and junior Fernando Morett both finished the opening round with 4-over-par 76s, while freshman Thomas Hayes rounded out the scoring with a 6-over-par 78. Also competing for the Rams was sophomore James Mongey, but his score of 7-over-par 79 did not count towards the team's round total, as only the top four scores count.

Fordham returns to action Tuesday to play the second and final round of the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
