SERIES HISTORY: Friday will be the 23rd edition of Battle of the Bronx between Fordham and Manhattan.  Fordham holds the all-time lead in the series by a 13-8-1 count.  The Rams and Jaspers have split a pair of exciting 2-1 decisions the past two seasons.  In 2013, Fordham tied the game late in regulation, but fell on a penalty kick in overtime, while last season, Jessica Widmann scored with just over five minutes left to give Fordham the win in regulation.

Fordham is 0-1 against Princeton with the lone meeting being a 3-1 loss in 2013.

LAST TIME OUT: Vivien Beil's goal in the 22nd minute turned out to be the difference as the Maine Black Bears defeated the Fordham Rams, 1-0, at Mahaney Diamond in Orono, Maine.

The loss evens Fordham's record at 1-1 on the year, while Maine improved to 2-0.

The only goal of the contest came in the 22nd minute off a corner kick.  Vivien Bell took a return pass from Jenna Soucy off a short corner and scored into the top half of the net over Fordham goalkeeper Megan Fitzgerald.  It was Bell's first of the year.

Fordham put the pressure on the Black Bears for the remainder of the first half, as the Rams searched for the tying goal.  However, Claudia Dube-Trempe made saves on shots from Kristina Maksuti, Brooke Salmon, and Brianna Blunck to keep Fordham off the board.

In the second half, the Rams tested Dube-Trempe two more times, the last in the 83rd minute, as Jessica Widmann's shot just under the crossbar was caught and kept out of the goal to preserve the 1-0 win.

For Fordham, Fitzgerald ended the match with five saves, while Maksuti registered a team-high three shots.

WHO'S NEXT: Fordham heads to South Carolina for a pair of road matches next weekend.  The Rams take on The Citadel on September 4th and the College of Charleston on September 6th.
