Colin Reno Named Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Fordham University

Former Syracuse football and track standout joins Rams’ staff

Bronx, N.Y. (July 16, 2015) – Colin Reno, a former football and track standout at Syracuse University, was named assistant strength and conditioning coach at Fordham University it was announced today by assistant athletic director for athletic performance Tim Rehm.
 
Reno will be in charge of coaching varsity student-athletes through training programs that focus on Olympic style lifting and power lifts and conditioning that concentrates on sport, position and gender specific training. He will also be responsible for creating programs that improve speed, power, muscular endurance, and flexibility for the Fordham student-athletes.
 
Reno also currently serves as an athletic performance coach at Division 1 Prep in Greenwich, Conn., where he coaches athletes ranging in age from youth to college. He designs structured and periodized training programs for sports specific and position specific training, focusing on speed, power, agility and conditioning.
 
Prior to his stint at Division 1 Prep, Reno served as an athletic performance coach at The EDGE Training Performance in Danbury, Conn., in 2014-2015 and as a project exercise specialist at the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine & Athletic Trauma in September of 2014.
 
A 2014 graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Health and Exercise Science, Reno minored in Nutrition and Wellness. He was a member of the Orange track and field and football programs, placing fifth in the 60 meters at the 2013 Armory National Collegiate Invitational and third in the 55 meters at the 2012 Syracuse Invitational. He qualified for the Big East Championships in the 60 meters all four years at Syracuse and was a silver medalist in track and field at the 2013 Maccabiah Games. Reno was also a member of the 2010 Syracuse football team that won the inaugural Pinstripe Bowl.
 
A native of Scarsdale, N.Y., Reno is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S), a certified Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through the USA Weightlifting Federation, and is an Athletic Republic Strength Coach Level 1.
