BRONX, N.Y. -- The Fordham softball team (25-17) returns to nonconference action Wednesday when it travels to Hempstead, N.Y. to take on Hofstra (25-11-1) at Bill Edwards Stadium, with first pitch slated for 3 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Rams are coming off a three-game sweep of Saint Joseph's at Bahoshy Field last weekend to move to within a half game of second-place Saint Louis. The Rams outscored the league's top hitting team, 20-0, and provided a pair of 8-0 (five inning) victories in Saturday's doubleheader. Fordham hit .352 (25-for-71) with four home runs, while the pitching limited the Hawks to a .140 average (8-for-57). Senior Michele Daubman slashed .714/.750/1.714 with four runs, one double, two home runs and five RBI; fellow classmate Cora Ianiro hit .500 with two stolen bases; and redshirt junior Rachel Gillen slashed .375/.444/1.250 with three runs, one double, two home runs and five RBI. Gillen, who was named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time, tossed a pair of complete-game shutouts, as she limited SJU to just five hits and three walks to go along with 18 strikeouts in 12.0 innings. Daubman also pitched a three-hit shutout, yielded three hits and no walks and struck out one.
