Orchard Beach, N.Y. – The Fordham rowing squad got one last meet in before Easter break, competing against Iona College in the Orchard Beach Lagoon where the Varsity 8 and Junior Varsity 8 both won their races on Thursday.

The varsity 8 of
Maura O'Donnell, Ashely Hawkesworth,
Fiona Murtagh,
Caroline Hamann,
Ashleigh Aitchison,
Kerry Egan,
Jessica Kammen, and
Nicole Arrato, with Jackie Ramos at coxswain, easily defeated the Gaels, covering the course in a time of 8:14.7, over 30 seconds in front of the competition.

The Fordham junior varsity y8 of
Kristen Shuman,
Katie Dillon, Brynn Fiacchi,
Leslie Fung, Jess LaJoie, Kat Napoli,
Kelly Leonard, and Caroline Snyder, with Caitlin Shershon at coxswain, also beat Iona to the line.

A varsity 4 race was also schedule but had to be canceled due to gusty winds.

The Rams return to action on April 11 and 12 as they compete at the Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, N.J.
