Twitter Updates @FordhamSoftballBRONX, N.Y. --Â The Fordham softball team (15-13) looks to increase its win streak to four games Wednesday when it welcomes Syracuse (12-17) to Bahoshy Field for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
Last Time OutThe Rams are coming off a doubleheader sweep of La Salle last Sunday (3/29), as they defeated the Explorers by scores of 8-0 (in six innings) and 8-1. Each game featured pitchers' duels until Fordham exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth in the opener, before scoring eight times in the bottom of the sixth in the nightcap. Rachel Gillen moved to 9-6 in the circle after tossing her third complete-game shutout of the season while scattering four hits, walking three and striking out 11 in game one. She also finished 3-for-3 with a RBI at the plate, and Senior

What You Need To Know:Â The Orange were swept in a three-game series last weekend at Louisville and had six straight games canceled before that series. They have yet to win a true road game but did beat Northwestern, 2-1, back in February. The offense is hitting only .234 and averaging 3.7 runs per game but has been efficient on the base paths having stolen 24-of-26 bases. Sydney O'Hara leads the team with a .296 average and has 24 hits, five home runs, a team-leading 19 RBI and 10 runs, while Corrine Ozanne is hitting .288 with 23 hits, 14 runs, a team-best nine home runs, a team-leading 19 RBI as well to go along with team highs in slugging (.663), on-base percentage (.436) and walks (18). In the circle, Jocelyn Cater does most of the work. She is 8-12 with a 3.51 ERA, having pitched 117.2 out of a possible 191.1 innings. She has yielded 112 hits and 65 walks while fanning 155.
Up NextThe Rams return to Atlantic 10 action Friday, April 3 when they begin a three-game series with Dayton. The two sides will play a 12 p.m. contest Friday, before participating in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
