BRONX, N.Y. -- The Fordham softball team (15-13) looks to increase its win streak to four games Wednesday when it welcomes Syracuse (12-17) to Bahoshy Field for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Rams are coming off a doubleheader sweep of La Salle last Sunday (3/29), as they defeated the Explorers by scores of 8-0 (in six innings) and 8-1. Each game featured pitchers' duels until Fordham exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth in the opener, before scoring eight times in the bottom of the sixth in the nightcap. Redshirt junior Rachel Gillen moved to 9-6 in the circle after tossing her third complete-game shutout of the season while scattering four hits, walking three and striking out 11 in game one. She also finished 3-for-3 with a RBI at the plate, and Senior Kayla Lombardo delivered the big blow with a grand slam. In the second game, senior Michele Daubman improved to 4-5 after going the distance for the second time this season in the circle, as she allowed just one earned run on four hits to go along with one walk and five strikeouts. Sophomore Amy Van Hoven collected two hits and stole her eighth base of the season, while fellow classmate Lindsay Mayer slugged a three-run homer.
