Women’s Soccer Wraps Up A-10 Road Swing at Richmond

Rams Look to End Road Trip on High Note Against the Spiders

The Fordham women's soccer team ends a three-game road stretch on Sunday, when the Rams take on the Richmond Spiders in Virginia at 1:00 PM.

Things are getting tight in the conference standings with just three games left in the regular seasons.  Fordham is currently tied for fourth place with a 4-3-0 record and 12 points, along with Saint Joseph's, George Mason, and La Salle.  Richmond stands with a 2-4-1 mark in the conference and seven points entering Sunday's action.

SERIES HISTORY: This is the 12th all-time meeting between the Rams and Spiders and the first since 2012.  Richmond holds a 7-3-1 edge in the all-time series with the last Fordham win coming in 2010.

LAST TIME OUT: An early goal by Sofia Pavon proved to be the difference maker on Thursday afternoon, as the George Washington Colonials topped the Fordham Rams, 1-0, at GW Soccer Field in Washington, D.C.

The only goal of the game came in the fourth minute of action, following a Fordham foul.  Sofia Pavon lined up the free kick and found the top right corner of the net for her sixth goal of the season.

That ended up being the only shot of the game for George Washington, as the Rams locked down defensively.

Offensively however, Fordham was unable to find the equalizer, as Colonials' goalkeeper Miranda Horn made three saves for the shutout.

WHO'S NEXT: The Fordham women's soccer team returns home for their next game, as the Rams host the Davidson Wildcats at Jack Coffey Field, beginning at 7:00 PM.
