Follow on Twitter Kingston, R.I. (January 6, 2015) - The Fordham University men's basketball squad continues its 2015 Atlantic 10 season by traveling to Kingston, R.I., to face the University of Rhode Island Rams in the Ryan Center on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
The game that will be streamed by Campus Insiders with Josh Maurer (p-b-p) and Chris Disano (color) announcing and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and www.wfuvsports.org.
Fordham enters the game with a 5-7 overall record, 0-1 in the Atlantic 10, following a 75-58 conference loss to VCU in the Rose Hill Gym on Sunday. Rhode Island enters the game with a 9-3 overall record, 1-0 in the A-10, after a 65-53 league win at Saint Louis on Saturday.
Wednesday night's contest will be the 61
st meeting between Fordham and Rhode Island on the hardwood with Rhode Island leading the all-time series, which started in the 1941-42 season, 35-25. The two teams split a pair of games last year with Fordham winning, 85-79, on February 1 in the Rose Hill Gym as
Branden Frazier scored 27 points and added seven rebounds and
Mandell Thomas added 18 points and seven rebounds and Rhode Island winning, 77-65, in the Ryan Center on March 5 behind 21 points each from E.C. Matthews and Gilvydas Biruta.

Christian SengfelderFordham University freshman forward
Christian Sengfelder was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for games played from December 29-January 4, it was announced by the league office on Monday. It is the second A-10 Rookie of the Week award for Sengfelder and the third for the Rams this year.
Fordham freshmen
Eric Paschall and
Sengfelder are the only set of freshman teammates to be averaging more than 10.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg. Paschall is eighth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring with a 15.7 ppg average while also pulling down 5.9 rpg, while Sengfelder is averaging 11.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg.
Through games of January 4, the Fordham Rams have the Atlantic 10's eighth leading scorer, and top freshman scorer, in freshman guard
Eric Paschall (15.7 ppg) and the second leader in steals in
Mandell Thomas (2.3/game). The Rams also have the third leading rebounder in junior forward
Ryan Rhoomes (10.1 rpg) while
Antwoine Anderson is third in assists/game (4.1) and Rhoomes is fourth in the conference in blocked shots, averaging 1.9/game.
