Women’s Soccer Announces Recruiting Class

Rams Add Four Players for the 2014 Season

Bronx, N.Y. – (June 11, 2014) – Fordham women's soccer coach Jessica Clinton announced her first recruiting class on Wednesday with the addition of four players for the 2014 season.  The group includes Rachel Collage (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward), Clare Paoletta (Falls Chruch, Va./Georgetown Visitation), Natalie Sims (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy), Carlie Wagner (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Xavier College Prep).
 
"We are excited for these talented student-athletes to join our program," said Clinton.  "This group will provide us with much needed depth in positions.  They will develop well under the experience and guidance of their teammates and I look forward to their contributions to our program on and off of the field."  
 
Collage, a 5-6 defender/midfielder, was a multi-sport athlete in soccer and track at Elizabeth Forward High School in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.  A 2013 soccer team captain, she was a 2013 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Area Team selection, while also being named to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review Girls Soccer All-Star team.  She was a two-time All-Section and All-WPIAL pick (2012-13), as well as the Offensive and Defensive team MVP award winner at Elizabeth Forward.   In the classroom, Collage is a member of the National Honor Society and the high honor roll.
 
For club soccer, Collage played most recently for the Beadling Thunder, which won the 2014 U-18 Girls PA West State Championship and was the USYS Region 1 Premier League runner-up.  Prior to Beadling, she played for Century United from 2006-2013, where she was a team captain and helped the team to a pair of PA West State Championships.  Collage also played for PA West ODP from 2007-2012, where the team won the Region Championship in 2012.
 
Paoletta, a 5-9 midfielder/defender, was also a multi-sport athlete at Georgetown Visitation in Washington, D.C.  She helped her team claim back-to-back Independent School League AA Championships in 2011 and 2012.  She received the "Overcoming Adversity" Award as a senior for her continued dedication to her team after a season-ending injury early in her senior year.  In the classroom, Paoletta is a four-year First Honor Roll member, an AP scholar, and a National Spanish Exam medalist. 
 
For club soccer, Paoletta played most recently for the McLean Green Fury '95, which won the Region 1 Championship in 2012 and was a Virginia State Cup Finalist in both 2011 and 2012.  She also played for the DC Elite Summer Team, which won the Regional Championships and qualified for Nationals in 2012, as well as for the Washington Freedom, which was a Super Y National semifinalist in 2011.
 
Sims, a 5-6 midfielder, was a four-year varsity soccer and basketball player at St. Joseph Academy in St. Louis, Missouri.  A team captain for both squads, she was a three-year starter for the soccer team, helped her squad to the State tournament in each of those three seasons.  She was also selected to the All-Regional team as a senior and received the Mary Wellington Award as athlete of the year at St. Joseph Academy.  In the classroom, Sims is a member of the National Honor Society and received top honors among the student-athletes in her class.
 
For club soccer, Sims played for St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club.
 
Wagner, a 5-3 midfielder, was a three-year varsity soccer player at Xavier College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.  She helped her team to the Division I State Finals in 2011, as well as to semifinal berths in 2012 and 2014.  In the classroom, Wagner in a member of the National Honor Society, and received the National Honor Society Service Award, the President's Award for Academic Excellence, and the Phoenix Children's Hospital Volunteer Service Award.
 
For club soccer, Wagner played for SC del Sol '96 of the ECNL, where she helped her squad to two ECNL Mountain West Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013, as well as to the 2012 Surf College Cup U17 Championship and the 2013 President's Day Championship.  She also played for the State of Arizona '96 ODP team for two seasons and was a Region IV ODP camp invitee twice.
