ResultsPhiladelphia, Pa. – The Fordham University women's rowing squad competed at the Kerr Cup last Saturday on the Schuylkill River where the second varsity 8 won the gold medal and the varsity 8, varsity 4 and freshman/novice 4 each earned bronze medals.
The second varsity 8 covered the course in a time of 6:24.52, beating Drexel to the line by five seconds and finishing well ahead of Lehigh and La Salle. The second varsity 8 was comprised of

Megan Feerick as coxswain.
In the varsity 8, the Fordham entry placed third in its heat in 2:27.84, just behind Lehigh, to advance to the finals where the Rams placed third behind Drexel and Washington College, but easily beat Philadelphia, Villanova and Lehigh to the line. The varsity 8 was comprised of

Katelyn Lakes, Liz Helmer, Jessica Lajoie,
Ashley Hawkesworth,
Ashleigh Aitchison and
Nicole Arrato with
Jacquelyn Ramos at coxswain.
Fordham's freshman/novice 4 entry won its heat in 7:31.30, easily beating Villanova, and then placed third in the final, a race won by Penn followed by Villanova and the Rams, who were ahead of Drexel and the Villanova B boat. The freshman/novice four was made up of
Austin Fimmano,
Kerry Egan,
Kelly Leonard and
Leslie Fung with Alex Liard at coxswain.
The Rams had two boats entered in the varsity 4 with the A boat winning its heat in open water over Villanova A while the Fordham B entry placed fourth in its heat. The Fordham A boat advanced to the finals where it placed third, behind Villanova A and Drexel, but ahead of Villanova B, Richmond and Lehigh. The Fordham A varsity 4 was comprised of Maura O'Donnell, Ali Furneaux,
Megan Sullivan and
Sarah Tully with coxswain Linda Mule. The Fordham B entry was made up of
Catherine Rizzo,
Sherry Sanders,
Caroline Sneider and Kathleen Danaheer with
Elena Wostrel at coxswain.
The Rams will next be in action on Sunday, May 4, as they compete in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championships on the Occoquan Reservoir in Virginia.
