Following a seemingly endless winter, the Fordham Rams finally got their spring season underway on Monday, finishing in 15th place out of 16 teams on day one of the Wildcat Invitational at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.

Youngstown State is in the lead at 17 over par, but five teams did not get to finish their second rounds because of darkness.

Junior Jeff Hogan led the way for the Rams on Monday, carding a 78 on his first 18 before shooting a six-over 77 in his latter round, placing himself in a tie for 29th.

Fellow captain Brandon Nolan put up the second best score of the day for the Rams, shooting an 80 in the opening round before dropping two strokes on his second 18.   Nolan is tied for 51st, three shots behind Hogan.

Junior Drew Dufresne played well in his first rounds of the spring, shaving two strokes off his morning score to card a 79 in the afternoon.  Dufresne is currently tied for 63rd.

Ben Alcorn finished one shot behind Dufresne by going 80-81, while Brian Engstrom capped the team scoring with an 88-84 effort.

Competing as an individual, Bill Fitzpatrick carded an 82 and an 80 to finish in a tie for 68th.

The Rams have 18 holes remaining in the Wildcat Invitational, which will resume in the morning.
