Fordham women's basketball kicked off the 2014-15 season this week as they look to defend last year's Atlantic 10 Championship. The Rams took to the court Monday for their first practice of the season and return four seniors:
Taryn Durant,
Emily Tapio,
Liz Milner,
Christina Gaskin, two juniors:
Khadijah Gibson,
Samantha Clark, and four sophomores:
Alina Gjerkes,
Danielle Padovano,
Danielle Burns, and
Hannah Missry. Fordham also welcomes four freshmen to the team:
Aaliyah Jones,
G'mrice Davis,
Asnate Fomina, and
Britt Zappeij.
Tiffany Ruffin, a transfer from Boston College, will join the Rams and use her final season of eligibility as a graduate student.
The Rams come off a season where they went 25-8, while posting an 11-5 record in conference play. After defeating the University of Dayton to capture the Atlantic 10 Championship, the Rams fell to California during the first round of the NCAA Tournament by a score of 64-63.
Fordham looks to take on the challenge of replacing
Abigail Corning,
Erin Rooney,
Mary Nwachukwu, and Brianna Jordan, all who were lost to graduation.
The Rams open the season November 14
th, as they take on Iona at 11:30 AM in the Rose Hill Gym.
