The Fordham cross country teams travel to Pittsburgh's Schenley Park on Saturday for the first conference championship of the 2014-15 season: the 2014 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship.

This is the second leg of the championship portion of the Rams' schedule with the ECAC/IC4A Championship still to come later in November.

Fordham kicked off the championship season in impressive fashion at the Metropolitan Championship, where the men's team won their first title since 1964, while the women placed second overall.

Both squads are looking to better their performances at the Atlantic 10 Championship.  Last year, the Fordham men finished sixth overall, which tied the team's best-ever finish.  The Rams also finished sixth in 2011, 2004, 2001, and 2000.

The Fordham men look to improve on a sixth place finish last year.
The Fordham women were ninth overall in last year's championship with their best-ever finish being sixth, which they have done three times in 1995, 1997, and 1998.

Since joining the Atlantic 10 in 1995, Fordham has had five runners claim All-Conference honors and one major award.  Current Ram Jonathan Annelli earned All-Atlantic 10 honors last year, by placing seventh overall, while Julian Saad (4th – 2011) and Matthew Flynn (10th – 2004) have also earn All-League honors in the men's competition.  On the women's side, Brigid Moriarty (6th – 2009) and Claudine Kelly (3rd – 1995) are the only two Fordham women to receive All-Conference honors.

The lone major award for Fordham at the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship came in 2010, when Michael Belgiovine was named the Men's Rookie Performer of the Championship.

Championship Saturday begins at 10:00 AM with the women's 5K race, while the men's 8K run begins at 10:45 AM.
