Columbia's Antonio Matarazzo and Andrew Tinari each scored in the second half, as the Lions topped the Fordham Rams, 2-0, in men's soccer action at Jack Coffey Field on Sunday.

With the loss, Fordham is now 2-6-0 on the year, while Columbia improved to 5-2-0.

After a scoreless first half, Columbia scored the game's first goal in the 52nd minute.  Matthew Shinsky picked up a loose ball and headed toward the top of the box, and was tripped up for a foul.  Antonio Matarazzo would take the ensuing free kick and score from 25 yards out to the bottom left corner of the goal for his third tally of the year.

The Lions added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute as Henning Sauerbier found Andrew Tinari at the top of the box for a shot.  Tinari then lifted a shot into the top left corner of the net for his first marker of the year.

Columbia outshot Fordham 14-8 in the game, while each squad had five corner kicks.

In net, Columbia's Kyle Jackson made two saves for the shutout, while Fordham's Sean Brailey made six saves in his first action of the year.

The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Wednesday, October 2nd, when the Rams travel across the Bronx to Gaelic Park for a 2:00 PM showdown with Manhattan College.
