Golf Finishes Twelfth at Adams Cup

Jeff Hogan Leads the Rams with a 13-Over Performance

Final Results

After jumping three spots from 15th to 12th between the first and second rounds of the 2013 Adams Cup at Newport National Golf Club in Newport, R.I., the Rams remained in that position following the tournament's third and final round.

UCF took the team title, finishing eight under par as a squad over three rounds of play.  Ryan Fricke of Bethune Cookman took home medalist honors from the Adams Cup, shooting 11 under (67-66-72) over two days.  Bethune Cookman finished in the runner-up slot, 16 shots behind UCF.  

Jeff Hogan recorded the Rams' best finish for the second consecutive week, going 78-76-75 to tie for 26th in a field that featured premier teams from around the country.  

Fellow captain Brandon Nolan struggled in the final round of play, carding an 11-over 83 to fall into a tie for 49th.

Freshman Fernando Morett posted an 82 to finish third on the squad, while junior Ben Alcorn, who tied a career-best with a 73 yesterday afternoon, shot an 84.  The two finished tied for 53rd and 57th, respectively.

Ryan Donahue rounded out the Rams' scoring performance, tallying a final-round 82 to finish tied for 71st.

Brian Engstrom, playing in the Adams Cup as an individual,  registered an 81 on Tuesday to put himself in a tie for 68th.

The Rams will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Itaca, N.Y., on Saturday and Sunday for the Cornell Invitational at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.
