Golf in a Tie for Ninth Place after One Round at A-10's

After the first round of play at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Golf Championships at Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Gables, Fla., the Fordham golf team sits in a tie for 9th place out of 13 teams.

Charlotte leads the Championship with a ten-under 278 after day one, as three of their four scorers finished the day in the red. Branden Chicorka of URI fired off a six-under 66 to lead all scorers.

For Fordham, Brandon Nolan shot a one-over 73 to lead the squad, while Jason Del Rosso and Ben Alcorn sit just one shot behind him after posting 74's in the first of three rounds at the Championship. Nolan is tied for 18th overall, while Del Rosso and Alcorn are tied for 25th.

Jeff Hogan shot a 77 (T-50th)and Brody Nieporte posted an 82 (64th) to round out the action for the Rams.

The Rams have early tee times on day two, as Nieporte is slated to start his round at 8:15. Fordham players will be in the next four twosomes, as Hogan tees off at 8:24, Alcorn at 8:33, Del Rosso at 8:42 and Nolan at 8:51.
