The Fordham University women's crew continued their 2013 fall season with an appearance at the 2013 Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday where the Rams placed second in the College and Open Club 8 and seventh in the Championship 8.

In the College & Open Club 8, Fordham finished just .77 behind Drexel and would have prevailed but for a failure to yield by another crew, in a field of 40 crews. Drexel won in 16:18.60 with the Rams second at 16:19.37, well ahead of Old Dominion, Duquesne and Temple in the 40-boat race. The Fordham entry was comprised of Kate Malcolm (bow), Sossi Megan (2), Tecla Di Francesco (3), Maureen White (4), Katelyn Lakes (5), Fiona Murtagh (6), Ashley Hawkesworth (7), and Ashleigh Aitchison (stroke) with Jackie Ramos at coxswain.

The Fordham women's Championship 8 entry finished in seventh place, behind Trinity, Navy, Drexel, Duquesne, Old Dominion and Buffalo, but ahead of Holy Cross, Connecticut, Temple and others in a field of 20 boats. The Fordham lineup was Kasia Wlodarkiewicz (bow), Julia Barr (2), Ashley Hawkesworth (3), Jessica Lajoie (4), Katelyn Lakes (5), Fiona Murtagh (6), Nicole Arrato (7), and Elizabeth Helmer (stroke) with Jackie Ramos at coxswain.

It was also a good day for the younger Rams, with the women's frosh/novice fours finishing seventh, while Fordham took sixth and 31st in the college frosh/novice eights. The freshman/novice four boat was comprised of Mariella Vincent (bow), Shannon Spillane (2), Maureen McGinn (3), and Catherine Rizzo (stroke) with Gabrielle Zuccari at coxswain while the seventh-place freshman/novice 8 boat contained Alison Furneaux (bow), Elena Wostrel (2), Kathleen Danaher (3), Maura O'Donnell (4), Sherry Sanders (5), Julia Barr (6), Caroline Sneider (7), and Emily Mohri (stroke) with Linda Mule at coxswain.

The Rams close out the 2013 fall season at the Spring Metropolitan Championships this Saturday at Orchard Beach.
