Rams in Fourth Place at Lehigh University Invitational

Jeff Hogan Tied for Seventh in the Field

Round One Results

The Fordham golf team got its final tournament of the fall underway this morning in chilly Bethlehem, Pa., finishing in fourth place out of seven teams on day one of the Lehigh University Invitational.

Scores were high for most of the field at Saucon Valley Country Club, with no players under par and only one golfer equaling the mark on the par 72 track.  Rutgers (+17) tops the field, ahead of second place Lehigh by eight strokes.  The Rams are 18 strokes behind Rutgers at 35 over.

Jeff Hogan led the Rams on Sunday morning, shooting a six-over 78 and placing himself in a tie for seventh place heading into Monday's final round.

Seniors Brandon Nolan and Brian Engstrom finished two shots behind Hogan, carding 80s and finding themselves in a tie for 12th.

Ben Alcorn and Fernando Morett closed out the action for Fordham, each shooting an 85 and finishing the first round in a tie for 34th in the field.

The Rams close out their fall season tomorrow morning, with a shotgun start slated for 10:30 AM.  Frost delayed this morning's round by a few hours, and the same weather conditions are expected in the area tomorrow.
