(October 1, 2001) - Fordham University's freshman defender Corey Dunfey (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape Elizabeth) was named Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week for the week's games through September 30th. She shares the honor this week with Xavier's freshman forward Lauren Giesting.

Dunfey notched the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Lafayette College on Tuesday, September 25, her third goal of the season. She helped the Rams in the defensive game as Fordham put together three consecutive shutouts and a shutout streak of 344:13 over a five game span.

All three of Dunfey's goals this season have been game-winners. In the team rankings, she is currently tied for second in goals (3) and fourth in points (7).
