Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham water polo freshman
Karlo Dragosevic was named the MAWPC Rookie of the Week it was announced on Tuesday. It is the second straight rookie of the week award for Dragosevic.
The Rams, ranked fourth in the nation, travel to southern California to take on three ranked team, defeating #6 Long Beach State (14-10 in overtime) and #15 Cal Baptist (10-6) and fell to #1 UCLA (16-11).
Rookie of the Week
Karlo Dragosevic (Fr., Split, Croatia)
• Scored seven goals and has 12 drawn exclusions in three games vs. ranked opponents
• vs. #1 UCLA: 1 goal, 4 drawn exclusions
• vs. #6 Long Beach State: 3 goals, 4 drawn exclusions
• vs. #15 Cal Baptist: 3 goals, 4 drawn exclusions, 1 penalty drawn
In addition to Dragosevic being named Rookie of the Week, junior
Andras Toth and freshman Victor Savic were named to the weekly MAWPC honor roll. Toth scored 12 goals and six assists in three games over the weekend while Savic recorded over a 65% save percentage in 2 wins vs #6 Long Beach State and #15 Cal Baptist and made 9 saves vs #1 UCLA.
What's Next?
• The Rams host four matches on the weekend of October 9-11.
• Fordham will take on Wagner in an MAWPC match on Friday, October 9 at 6:00 p.m. and then host Princeton for a non-conference game, and MAWPC foe Navy on Saturday, October 10, at 10:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
• The Rams then close out the weekend with a conference match against George Washington on Sunday, October 11, at 10:00 a.m.
