Riverside, Calif. – Riverside is known as the birthplace of California's citrus industry. The introduction of the Washington navel orange in the late 1800s led to a booming citrus industry and one of the original navel orange trees planted in Riverside still stands at the corner of Magnolia Ave and Arlington Ave. The Fordham water polo squad closed out its southern California trip in the city today with something as sweet as an orange.
