Fairfax, Va. – The Fordham women's soccer team must be thinking to themselves, "If it wasn't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all." The Rams were called for a penalty in the box with just over eleven minutes remaining, giving George Mason a penalty kick with the score tied at two. Fordham keeper Adison Green managed to get a foot on the kick to keep it out of the net but the ball came right back to the Patriot kicker who one-timed it into goal to break the tie and lead George Mason to a 4-2 win at George Mason Stadium.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 3-5-1 overall, 0-2-2 in the Atlantic 10, while George Mason improves to 5-2-3 overall, 1-0-1 in the conference.
The Patriots took an early 1-0 in the seventh minute but the Rams came back in the 20
th minute to knot the game when
Julia Acosta intercepted a pass, dribbled down the left side and into the box before getting off a shot that beat the Patriot keeper to the far post.
George Mason regained a one goal lead with a tally in the 73
rd minute but five minutes later the Rams found the equalizer.
Riley Carroll controlled the ball into the box where she fed Lina Müller just inside the box and Müller one-time it into the net.
In the 79
th minute officials went to a replay to determine if a penalty occurred in the Fordham box and awarded the Patriots the penalty kick. George Mason tacked on another goal two minutes later to make it a 4-2 final.

• The goals were the first of the season for Müller and the second for Acosta (her 14
th career goal).
• The loss snaps a six-game winning streak for Fordham over George Mason
• The Rams still lead the all-time series, which started in 2013, 6-4-3.
What's Next?
• The Rams continue their Atlantic 10 schedule by hosting the Davidson College Wildcats at Moglia Stadium on Sunday, September 27, at 1:00 p.m.
• It will be the eleventh meeting between the Rams and the Wildcats.
• Fordham leads the all-time series, which started in 2013, 6-1-3, but the last two meetings have ended in a tie.
• The two teams tied 2-2 last year as Davidson scored a pair of second half goals to overcome a 2-0 first half deficit.
